Introduction
Athlinks offers a way to publish the results from your events in a rapidly-growing social network of avid, active athletes. Whether you use any of ChronoTrack's software services or not, you can still take advantage of this outlet for your event's results.
If you're interested in using Athlinks results, Series functions, or just want to keep tabs on your events within Athlinks, this quick article serves as an outline of the basic work flow required to get your results onto Athlinks. Links to detailed articles that will give specifics on the various topics will be presented with each step.
To access the admin portion of Athlinks, follow the 'Get Authorized' instructions below, then go to start.athlinks.com and log in using your credentials.
Get Authorized
As a Timer or Event Director, you can claim results to your company so that athletes know who put on the event and so that you can make edits to results and event information within Athlinks. Before you can Claim events, you have to get set up with an Affiliate account by a member of ChronoTrack's support staff. To do this, please contact esupport@chronotrack.com with the name of your company, the email address and password you'd like to use to sign up for Athlinks, and the country and state/region in which your company is based.
The e-mail address we use for your admin account must NOT already be in use for an Athlinks profile.
Once we've got your Affiliate account set up, you'll be able to log into the admin interface of Athlinks - called Start - and begin claiming, editing, and managing Athlinks events and results.
Making an Athlinks Event
If you're using ChronoTrack Live and have created an event since the beginning of 2017, your event is probably already linked to an Athlinks Event. The easiest way to tell for sure is by looking at your Races on the Event tab of your CT Live event. If you see a magenta flame next to one or more of your Races, the event is already linked, and you can go ahead and Claim the event to your company in Athlinks.
If your event isn't linked, or if you're not using CT Live for Reg or Scoring, you'll probably need to set up a new event in Athlinks. To find out how to do this, click HERE. If you set up the event yourself, the event will already be claimed to your company in Athlinks, so you can skip the Claiming step.
Master Events
Once you've got an Event in Athlinks, you may need to set up a Master event. If you have annual or recurring events, new events you create should be linked to a Master so that the results for each year will show up under the same event title. For a full explanation of Master events and how they're used, click HERE.
Claiming
After your CT Live event is made, you'll want to go Claim the event to your company in Athlinks. To find out how to do this, click HERE.
Event Landing Pages
Event Landing pages are a great way to share your event details with athletes and grow your event via our Athlinks Community of 1 million+ members. ELPs offer the ability to host a Registration link, social media links, sponsor links, course maps, event schedules, and more. Tremendously exciting is the onset of the Start List opt-in feature found on these pages. Participants, exclusive to Athlinks Members, can now learn who’s attending an event in advance. As events continue to become more social, we’re now poised to deliver an unparalleled experience for you, your clients, your sponsors and most importantly your participants.
ELPs are great for smaller events that don’t have a website and want something more than a Facebook page to promote their events. ELPs are currently available to ChronoTrack Live registration customers. Once we’ve rolled out the product to all of our customers, we’ll open up similar pages to non-ChronoTrack Live registration customers.
The Event Landing Page pulls all of its data from your CT Live event. For information on how to configure and publish and ELP, click HERE.
Syncing Results
If you're using CT Live, results will automatically appear in the linked Athlinks event live. However, if athletes claim their results, their times will show as "Pending" on their profile until you click the Sync Results With Athlinks button located at the bottom of the Event tab in your CT Live event. This process indicates that you have finalized the results for the event and are ready to mark all results as official in Athlinks. After clicking the Sync Results... button, you'll be prompted to select the Races you'd like to sync. For a detailed look at this process, click HERE.
If you're using a different scoring platform than CT Live, you'll need to upload results into your Athlinks event manually using a CSV file. For a complete look at this process, click HERE.
