Introduction
Currently, CT Live does not support pushing results from Multi-Sport courses to Athlinks using the standard Sync Results button. Triathlon and Multi-Sport results can be imported manually, however. This guide will show you how to import these results into Athlinks.
Download the Results
First, you should download the results for each race into separate files from CT Live or whichever scoring software you are using. Make sure results from Race A are NOT included in the results from Race B.
In the results file, you should include the following information:
- Bib
- Bracket/Division
- First Name
- Last Name
- Gender
- Race Age
- City
- State/Region Name
- Country Name
- Split Times including transitions
- Finish Net Time
If you're downloading this information from CT Live, you should use the Confirmed Entries report. When selecting the Results Options at the bottom of the edit window for the report, be sure to check the following boxes:
- Only With Results
- Finish Net Time
- Include Net Splits
- Confirmed
Once you've saved the information, download the file as a CSV.
Prepare the Results File
Once you've downloaded the results file, you'll need to open it in Excel to make sure the time columns are in the correct order as they were completed by athletes during the race to simplify the import process. In the image below, you'll notice that the splits are out of order. Please note that you should only import the most basic points. In the image below, we would want to eliminate the 2M Run Split and 9.5M Bike Split columns since they don't mark the beginning or end of a major interval.
Once we're done removing and re-ordering, our times should look similar this:
Your file may have more or fewer columns, depending on the Multi-sport type. Just remember to keep the columns to the Interval - Transition, Interval - Transition...Final Time format.
Now, save the file as a new .CSV file. Please do not save over the original in case you need to go back and re-edit the file for any reason.
Uploading to Athlinks
To upload the results file, log into start.athlinks.com and locate your event's admin Dashboard. Once there, click Upload next to the course to which you'd like to upload the results.
On the next screen, click the Choose File button and locate the CSV on your computer. Next, select "Comma-separated values" from the File Format dropdown, then click Upload & Define Columns.
Now, select the correct mapping values for each column in the file. Click Show Header if you need to see the column headers. You can use the scroll bar at the bottom of the spreadsheet display to scroll over to see all columns.
For every time column except the Finish, select the Time value from the mapping dropdown. You must select these in the correct order for the results to be accurate, so proceed from left to right to map the times. Once you've mapped all columns, the required cells should all show green as shown here.
Now, click Preview Results. On the next page, if you're happy with how things look, click Save Results. A confirmation dialogue will appear, so click Save Results again to confirm.
You should now see a success message asking if you'd like to upload more results. Clicking No will return you to the event's admin dashboard.
Your results should now be posted.
