Introduction
Athletes' privacy is a matter of great importance, so when an athlete does not wish to have their information shown on Athlinks, there is an easy way to accomplish this. However, it may be confusing to an athlete if they wish to change and show their result for an event rather than keeping it private. This article will explain how it works to hide information.
How to Hide Information (PII)
These are the steps that athletes can take in order to make their profile and PII hidden:
- Navigate to Athlinks.com and sign in to your account
- Click on your profile picture and choose Settings from the drop down menu
- Choose the Account tab
- Un-check the box for "Set profile to visible"
- Choose Save
The (potential) Problem
Once an athlete has taken these steps, they will be displayed as "Unknown Runner" in Athlinks results, which could be confusing to the athlete if they didn't realize the ramifications of hiding their profile.
If an athlete wishes to have their result displayed, they will simply need to go back through these steps, and this time check the box to set their profile to visible. Once they click Save their name will display properly again on all their results.
