Troubleshooting Unwanted Registration Closure

Introduction

This guide will touch on each of the most common causes of unexpected registration closures in CT Live and the steps necessary to reopen registration in each scenario so that you can quickly troubleshoot and correct issues. If your registration ever closes before you intended it to, check each of the items below.

Is the "Registration Close Time" Set Too Early?

1. In CT Live, navigate to the Registration > Choices tab, and click the Edit button next to the registration choice you would like to reopen.
   
2. Check and change the Registration Choice Close Time to the desired date/time as needed.
   
3. Click Save & Close.
4. You will need to re-release the Registration Form. To do this, navigate to the Registration > Overview tab.
5. Click Release on the newest form version. (The Status field will be noted as Development)
   
6. Registration should now be open.

To avoid this issue, set the Registration Choice Close Time to at least half an hour after the Event Start time to accommodate late registrations.

Have Your Registration Choices Reached Their "Max Entrants" Limit?

1. In CT Live, navigate to the Registration > Choices tab, and click the Edit button next to the registration choice you would like to reopen.
   
2. Check and increase the number of athletes allowed to register as necessary, or empty the field. If the field is left blank, there is no registration limit.
   
3. Click Save & Close.
4. You will need to re-release the Registration Form. To do this, navigate to the Registration > Overview
   
   
5. Click Release on the newest form version. (The Status field will be noted as Development)

To avoid this issue, leave the Max Entrants field blank unless a limit is necessary.

Have Your Races Reached Their "Max Entrants" Limit?

If one Race's registration option has closed, it may mean that the individual race itself reached its defined limit.

1. In CT Live, navigate to the Event tab and click the Race whose registration has closed. 
   
2. Check and increase the number of athletes allowed to register as necessary, or empty the field. If the field  is left blank, there is no registration limit.
   
3. Click Save & Close.
4. Registration should now be open (No form release required)

To avoid this issue, leave the Max Entrants field blank unless a limit is necessary.

Has the Event Reached Its "Maximum Entrants" Limit?

1. In CT Live, open the Event Properties box from the Event tab.
   
2. Use the dropdown to select the Other tab.
   
3. Check and increase the number of athletes allowed to register as necessary, or empty the field. If the field is left blank, there is no registration limit.
   
4. Click Save & Close
5. Registration should now be open.

To avoid this issue, leave the Maximum Entrants field blank unless a limit is necessary.
