How to Assign Bibs with the Bib Management Tool

Introduction

If you are not assigning bib dynamically at Packet Pickup, you will likely want to assign Bibs to all athletes in your Races at once. CT Live makes this easy with the Bib Management Tool. If bib numbers differ from chip numbers, you should complete the process below, then import a Bib Chip Map file.

You can also assign bibs and chips as part of an Athlete Import.

Using the Bib Management Tool

1. Click Bib Tool next to the Export Athletes button.
   
2. Click the Assign Bibs radio button.
3. Click Continue.
   
4. Next, under Assign Bibs based on, select Race.
5. Select the method by which bibs should be sorted. Options include: Alphabetical (First Name), Alphabetical (Last name, First name), Alphabetical (Last Name, Date of Registration), Date of Registration, and Athlete DOB.
6. Click Continue.
7. On the next page, select the Race for which you would like to assign bibs.
8. Enter a numerical value in the Start Bib number at field to specify the first bib number off of which the rest will be based.
   
9. Finally, the Bib Management Tool will alert you to any conflicts in bib assignment (e.g. Redundant assignments, bib already assigned) Confirm the information, then click Complete & Save.
   
10. You should see a confirmation that all bibs were assigned correctly.
    

The page will automatically refresh, and you should now see bib numbers listed for the athletes in the race for which you assigned bibs.
