Race Rules are now available for all users. Race Rules can be found within the Scoring Section in CT Live Admin.
What are Race Rules?
- Race Rules grant you the ability to create simple or complex logic statements in order to identify matching Athletes within your Event.
- After a Rule has been created, it can be run on demand, whenever you would like.
- After a Rule has been run, you can see how many Athletes were affected, and take action.
What can I do after I Find matching Athletes?
The first thing you should do, is manually inspect an Athlete or 2 to ensure the Rule you built matches your desired outcome.
- Bulk change Entries. Currently, you can bulk change:
- Race
- Wave
- Status
- Manually Ignore Entries after you inspect them or deem no further action is required.
What if I accidentally move an Athlete
- We keep track of all your changes
- Each Rule has a log of all Changes that is always accessible
- Athlete changes are also noted within the Change Log found within the Athlete's tab
What are some examples of common scenarios?
- Bulk Change Athletes who didn't finish to DNF
- Identify Athletes who missed 1 or more Splits who may be considered a Cheater
- Identify Athletes who Signed up for Marathon but decided to run the Half Marathon
- Move Athletes with Invalid Start Reads to their correct assigned Wave
Tips on Building your first Race Rule
- Navigate to an Event that has Tag Reads
- Race Rules can be found within the Scoring section in 2.0
- Click Create Rule
- Every Rule starts by selecting the Race of Athletes that you are interested in.
- You can refine your selection by choosing Wave & Status options
- Choose if you want to identify Athletes who MUST BE SEEN or MUST NOT BE SEEN
- Select Read Type
-
and Timing Locations
Final Tip: Before building a complex rule with an "AND" statement, we suggest you build a simple Rule first, ensure it identifies Athletes, and then edit that Rule.
Important Note for building complex Race Rules
- Race Rules will only identify Athletes with atleast 1 Read somewhere on the Course
-
Valid Reads can ONLY exist within the Race an Athlete is assigned.
IE: If I'm in the 10K Race, it's not technically possible to have a Valid Read in the 5K Race
