You may only speak one language, but your Athletes come from all over the world.
When we rolled out our new Results experience, it was important that localization was built in from the beginning. That means Results can adapt to the Athlete viewing them—not just in language, but also in how information is presented.
Our new interfaces support:
- Units of Measure — allowing users to view information in the units that make sense to them
- Localized Dates & Numbers — respecting the User’s regional preferences for date and number formatting
- Language Support — making Results more accessible to Athletes around the world
Why We Worked on This
- CT Live is also used heavily across South America and Europe, where many Athletes may not speak English
- We frequently received requests for additional translations whenever new features were released
Rather than treating translation as something we add later, we wanted to make it part of how the product works by default.
How It Works
We Built a System
- Automatic - Our new interfaces—including Microsites, Results, and our new Admin experiences are automatically translated w/ specialized language-agents when new Features are rolled out
- Note: Legacy Admin Interfaces are not included and will eventually be replaced & updated
- Contextual - Our translation system considers each string in the context in which it appears, helping produce more accurate and natural translations.
