Introduction
Chronoview is a tool in the Timer Portal that allows you to view and sort data. In this article, we will detail how to find specific controllers, open sessions from those controllers, and navigate the data.
Finding Chronoview
Chronoview lives on the Timer Portal, among the main tabs. Click the tab, then choose one of the three views to get started (each of these views provides the same function, but they are separate so that you can maintain a sort of bookmark in one of them while making a new data search in another).
Using Chronoview
Chronoview can be used to look up more than controllers, timers, users, and events (events on the CCS server, not CT Live events). To find controller data, you can search by the MAC address or the serial number of the controller (note that the controller must have been connected to the server in order to find the sessions, but it does not have to currently be connected).
Once you have entered search terms, you will find line items that match the description. This includes details of the controller, as shown in the image above.
Double-click on the desired line item to investigate further. This will present a button labeled "Sessions for Controller". Click that button to pull up all sessions from that controller that are on the server and not archived.
Double-click one of these sessions to see the tag data for that session.
In this screen you will find all the tag details for this session, as well as a summary of the session to the right.
By clicking the column headers, you can sort this data by that category. For instance, if you would like to view all tags that were read in chronological order, sort by chiptime. Maybe you want to look for a specific athlete, in which case you would sort by bibcode (which is their timing tag).
Conclusion
There are many ways to order and navigate the data on the server. If you are needing to determine if data is present or missing, Chronoview is a good place to start.
