Introduction
The Kairos app is the companion app to the Kairos 4 controller, which allows you to operate the Kairos 4 controller through a Bluetooth connection on your smart phone or tablet. From the app, you can create markers, change the event and point name, time sync, manage server connections, and more.
To begin, download the app from either the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store. You will find the app listed as Chronotrack Kairos
Find a Controller
The first screen will display a list of available Kairos 4 controllers. Controllers will only be displayed in this list if they are powered on, and if no other mobile devices are connected to them. You will find them color coded and with a numerical value of the Bluetooth signal strength of that controller.
Simply tap on the desired controller to connect.
Note that this list automatically refreshes regularly. You can identify a specific controller by the point name or the serial number (listed beneath the point name).
Authentication
When you first connect to a controller, you will be prompted to enter an Authentication PIN. This 4-digit code defaults to the last 4 digits of the reader serial number (not the controller s/n). This can be found by navigating on the controller to View > Status > More > More. It is displayed next to Bluetooth PIN.
Home/Dashboard
Once you’ve made a selection, the dashboard for the chosen controller will be displayed. This provides the following information about that controller:
- Event & Point Info: tap in either field to enter a new Event or Point name. Choose Save when finished.
-
Tag Info
- Unique Count: Number of unique tags read by this controller in this session
- Total Count: Total number of tag reads in this session
- Transferred Count: Total number of tag reads that have successfully been transferred to the server
- Most Recent Tag: Tag number of the most recent tag read
-

Server Priority

- The Kairos 4 will attempt to connect to the top address automatically, then the next if it is unsuccessful in the first attempt
- Once a successful connection is established, if you want to change the server connection to a different one on that list, you must do so from the Kairos unit: Choose Menu > Reinit Server to signal the controller to scan through the server connections again.

These options should rarely need to be changed
- DNS Server: Displays the DNS address. Tap to edit
