Introduction
If you are not using ChronoTrack Live to Registration, you will have to Import Teams and Team Members. Importing Team Members is nearly identical to importing individual type Athletes. The exception is that each Team Member must have an External Team ID number associated with them as well as the standard individual External ID.
Teams MUST be imported before Team Members are imported. If you haven't already imported the Teams, click HERE to find out how.
Preparing the File
The most important aspect of preparing an athlete file for importing into teams is to ensure that the External Team IDs for each person are correct.
Since Athlete files from registration platforms usually contain the Team Name each Athlete is associated with, the easiest method for assigning External Team IDs is to use the Team Name column as the External Team ID. In the athlete file, you can either change the name of the Team Name column to External Team ID, or simply map the Team Name column to the External Team ID value when importing into CT Live.
This must be consistent between the Team file and the Athlete File.

Using this method drastically cuts down on the work involved with importing Team Members.
As noted in the Team Import guide, you can use a random string of letters and numbers as the External Team ID if you wish. This will complicate the import process, however.
Once you're sure that all External Team IDs in the file are accurate, make any other necessary adjustments to athlete data, then import the file.
Importing the File
When importing the file to CT Live, use the usual Import Athletes process. Make sure you map both the External ID and External Team ID columns correctly.
