In Athlinks, linking events from multiple years is a simple process using a Master Event. Once you've Linked or Copied events to Athlinks, you can define a Master event. Each Series must have a Master event. This guide will show you how to define a Master Event, associate events to a Master, merge multiple Master events, and merge multiple events within a Master series.
This function of Athlinks should not be confused with an Event Series. Master events are designed to allow year-over-year linking and reporting for all events associated with the Master event.
Add an Event to a Master
- Log into start.athlinks.com and navigate to your My Events page.
- Click the title of the Event you would like to make a Master event. This will direct you to the Event's Dashboard.
- Click the Create Link button.
- In the window that appears, you can either create a new Master event, or link to an existing Master.
To Link to an Existing Master: check the box next to your Event on the right side, then check the radio button next to the Master you'd like to link to on the left.
To Link to a New Master: check the box next to your Event on the right side, then click inside the Create New Master text box on the left near the bottom. It should auto-fill with the title of your Event.
- Click OK to finalize.
You will be redirected to the Master Event dashboard. From there, you can Edit the master event's information, view Total finishers by year for all connected events, and view linked Events and their information. You also have the ability to merge events.
