Introduction
Athletes' privacy is a matter of great importance, so when an athlete does not wish to be tracked during a race or have their name presented prior to a race, there is an easy way to accomplish this.
Athlete Steps
The following are steps athletes can take to obfuscate themselves from showing in the Roster as well as being searchable prior to the race start. Doing this will also make the athlete un-trackable by other athletes for live tracking.
- Login to CT Live (register.chronotrack.com)
- Once logged in, this will land an athlete in their CT Profile
- Go to the Events tab within the profile options
- Filter by Upcoming events
- Uncheck the checkbox by Allow Athlete Updates. This will prevent tracking and remove you from being shown in the roster prior to the race start.
Timer / Event Director Steps
- In CT Live 2.0, navigate to Entries > Athletes
- Search for the athlete and click to access their page
- Scroll down to the "Athlete" section.
- Uncheck "Allow Tracking"
How it Works
Once an athlete or user makes an athlete's entry in an event not "trackable", the following goes into effect:
1. Athlete will not show up in search prior to race start
2. Athlete can not be tracked by spectators for timing updates to view where they are at on the course
3. Athlete is shown as "unknown athlete" on their entry page prior to the race start
NOTE: Once the race starts, the athlete's name will no longer be obfuscated, but the athlete will still not be trackable by other athletes or spectators for timing updates.
