Introduction
Before a race starts and while an event is ongoing someone may wish to track an athlete to be able to keep a tab on them while a race is ongoing. This is possible with Microsite Results Tracking.
How to Initiate Tracking:
- Go to Microsite Results for your Event. This link can be found on the Event Dashboard under the label "Online Results."
- In Microsite Results, search for an athlete you wish to track.
- Once you have found an athlete, click on them to go into their individual entry page.
-
Once on their entry page, choose the "Track" button in the upper right-hand corner.
- After having hit the button to track an athlete, note that that athlete will now show as "Tracked."
- Feel free to continue navigating the results website. Athletes you have tracked will appear in your tracked queue which can be accessed in the lower right-hand corner of the Microsites Result page.
How Tracking Operates During a Race
- Go to your "Tracked Queue in the right hand corner.
-
Click on it - this will open up a sidebar menu.
- The sidebar will show you a bar with progress for how far an athlete has gotten linearly on the course. It will also show split and finish times when available in the dropdown.
Predictive Timing
Predictive Tracking helps spectators estimate when an athlete will reach upcoming points on the course or finish the race.
Predictions are based on the athlete’s pace at their most recent split. Predicted times appear only when:
- The tracking point is a Course-type Interval
- The previous and upcoming Intervals use the same Pace Unit
For more accurate predictions, we recommend adding more splits throughout the course. Placing the first split earlier allows athletes to establish a pace sooner, so predicted times can appear earlier. If the terrain varies considerably throughout the course, the predictive time may be less accurate unless further splits are added.
If you wish to disable this, a toggle is available in the race edit window for each race in your Event.
