This guide will walk you through how to connect your Pro2 controller to your PC for live streaming of collected tag data. Before we begin, make sure of a few things:
- Ensure that a standard Ethernet cable has been plugged in to connect your PC to your Controller.
- Turn on both the PC and the Controller.
- Ensure that Classic Data Suite is installed on your computer and it is allowed through the Windows Firewall. (For more on this, see Add a Firewall Exception for CCS Lite)
- Turn off/allow an exception for CCS Lite in third-party antivirus software's firewall settings (McAffee, Norton, AVG, etc.)
Configure Your PC
- Open the Start menu and begin typing Network and Sharing Center. A pane should appear on the side of the screen.
- Click the Network and Sharing Center listing.
- In the window that opens, select Change adapter settings on the right side of the window.
- Locate the correct Ethernet adapter. Right click on the entry and select Properties.
- In the window that appears, select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) entry and click
- Click the Alternate Configuration tab and click the User Configured radio button.
- The information should be as follows:
IP: 172.20.23.x (x = any number between 2 and 49)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.252.0
You may leave all other fields blank.
It is important that you remember this number as it will be used later while configuring the controller. - Click OK.
Continue to Establish the Connection.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.

IP: 172.20.23.x (x = any number between 2 and 49)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.252.0
You may leave all other fields blank.
It is important that you remember this number as it will be used later while configuring the controller. - Click OK.
Continue to Establish the Connection.
- On your PC open CCS Lite OR Fusion.
- From any screen in ChronOS, tap the Race Ops screen, the tap Server Connection.
- On the Server Connection screen, tap the connection you've set up for ethernet and then tap Connect. If you haven't added a local Server Connection yet, click HERE to find out how. Make sure the IP you set on your PC matches the IP you select in the Server Connection.
- After a few seconds, the connection should be established, and the Status field will say "Connected". You should also see the green "Connected" LED on the keypad lit solid.
- In CCSLite/Fusion, confirm that you can see the controller you have connected.
Now, you can stream data to your CT Live Event using Fusion, SimpleClient, or StreamManager
General Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing difficulty establishing a connection, you may be able to resolve connectivity issues by checking the following:
- Determine if your Ethernet cable is functioning properly. This can be achieved by looking at the connection on both the PC and the Controller, as two lights (one amber, one green) should appear.
- If lights do not appear, replace the cable. If lights still do not appear, there may be a physical issue with the controller.
- Attempt to ping the Controller, to determine that the Controller is discoverable by your PC.
To Ping the Controller:
- Click Start and type cmd in the search box. Press the Enter key. The Command window will open.
- Type ping followed by a space and the IP Address assigned to your controller. The controller IP can be found on the Settings > Network Adapters screen.
If the ping yields no response, please review the Configure Your PC section.
It is also possible that your firewall is not allowing connections to CCSLite. Refer to Add a Firewall Exception for CCSLite for directions on adding an exception.
